Solo expositie Astrid Verhoef in Atelier K84, Amsterdam van 6 april t/m 11 mei
  • Judith Minks

Judith Minks (1969), who lives in Harlingen, graduated cum laude from the Amsterdam Photo Academy. Her work went through an important development, hrough self-reflection she gained more insight into her own way of functioning and this resulted in a breakthrough. Judith needs complete control over almost everything she does and this goes for her photography too.

Minks focuses on photo series in which she strives for perfection and complete mastery. She stages personal memories, experiences and fantasies in stylized and carefully lit sets. Moments in time and Hotel Room are penetrating examples that are reminiscent of the work of photographer Gregory Crewdson and painter Edward Hopper. The photos are intimate and distant at the same time, an intriguing combination.
