Solo expositie Astrid Verhoef in Atelier K84, Amsterdam van 6 april t/m 11 mei
  • Kim de Molenaar

Kim De Molenaer is a contemporary photographer based in Belgium and Greece. His works are reminiscent of Sally Mann, Jock Sturges, and Marc Lagrange. He captures his human subjects in moments of vulnerability, either staged or improvised, and places emphasis on the forms of the human body.

Similar to Robert Mapplethorpe, De Molenaer shows an artistic appreciation for the naked body, using contrast to accentuate shadow and form. In his garden/outdoor studio in Athens, his models are being portrayed in artworks filled with emotion, substance and truth. He studied photography at the Karel de Grote High School in Antwerp. For more than 10 years, he was the first assistant to photographer Marc Lagrange, and worked closely together until his death in December 2015. De Molenaer currently lives and works in Antwerp and Athens.
